Home is certainly one of the most precious investments we will ever make. For this couple in Houston, Texas, their home was more than just an investment, it was one-of-a-kind and a significant piece of American history. Their home was built in 1887 in what is now downtown Houston and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's also a designated city landmark. Only the properties that have significance to the history of their state or nation are listed on the register. Since the couple deeply cared about their home and wanted to preserve it as well as they could, they were understandably concerned with the state of their home's tile surfaces, which were discolored and had ugly, dirty grout lines.

What they feared the most is that the tile would need to be ripped up and replaced, and since they had been victims of poorly performed remodeling and restoration projects before, they were very cautious when it came to picking a hard surface restoration company to take care of their floors. They went online looking for Houston grout recoloring services and found Sir Grout Houston's website in the top results. Once they saw the before and after pictures of the services we performed in other homes with similar problems, they were convinced we were right for the job and called us for a free evaluation.

When our team arrived at the extraordinary home, the couple showed them around and pointed out the areas of the house which were causing them the most concern. The team carefully inspected each area and found that 4 bathrooms, 2 showers, and a utility room were stained and discolored from years of foot-traffic and moisture. The grout lines in these areas were dirty and uneven in color, which made the worn tiles look even worse. The team knew that these surfaces needed an urgent deep cleaning, as well as a grout recoloring and sealing service. As for the master bathroom floor, it would need to be regrouted.

Once the team finished the inspection, they knew it was going to be an extensive job that needed to be done with the utmost care and patience, but it would all be worth it in the end. Our team's goal was to restore and to preserve the homeowner's tile surfaces. The best part was that they wouldn't need to replace the tiles to achieve their goal. They shared the good news with the couple and told them about their plan of action. After the couple agreed on the plan, they scheduled an appointment for the job to be done. The couple longed to see their floors restored to their former glory.

The day finally came, and our team was ready to get to work! First, they started by deep cleaning each area to remove the stains and dirt on the surface. Then, they used vapor steam cleaning to ensure that the remaining grime was fully removed from the tile and grout. Now the floors were ready for a grout recoloring and sealing service. The team carefully applied our proprietary ColorSeal in each area to recolor and seal the grout's pores. This would prevent dirt and stains from getting into the grout and would preserve its appearance for many years to come. The final step was to apply epoxy grout to the master bathroom floor. Since epoxy grout isn't porous, it does not absorb water or trap dirt, making grout lines look fresh and even in color. The job was finally done and the team was ready to show the homeowners the end result.

The couple was amazed at what our team had achieved in just one day! They were so amazed with our services that they even wrote a nice positive review on Angie's List. My wife and I are veterans/victims of home remodeling and restoration projects at the hands of "skilled designers, builders and sub-contractors". I contacted Sir Grout, with no prior knowledge of them, to see if they could do anything with our botched tile job, as we didn't want to go through the expense and mess of having 9 year old tile ripped up and replaced. We live in an 1887 home that is listed on the national registry of historic places and is a designated city landmark. The work they did looks better than the day it was installed.

The entire process start to finish was enlightening. They not only showed up in their company vans when they said they would and worked a full day, but they also came in on the budget and didn't try to pad the bill once they started. Todd, Steve, Kevin and Chad were all very pleasant to work with, not only that, they all spoke and understood English. I recommend them without reservation.

It is important to seal your grout if you don't want it to become dirty or discolored, which can make your floors look unappealing. Fortunately, we count on our very own ColorSeal, which is a long-lasting value solution that can preserve the bright and fresh appearance of grout lines for years.

If your tiles and grout look weathered, discolored, and old, they might need to be properly cleaned and sealed. Trust the hard surface restoration experts at Sir Grout Houston! You can contact us by filling out the form below or by calling (713) 856-9586. We will gladly give you a free evaluation.
