This Friendswood Home's Tile Floor Did a 180 After a Professional Grout Cleaning
November 18, 2016
This homeowner from Friendswood, Texas, has a large family, and this year she decided to host Thanksgiving. She had recently purchased her first home and couldn't wait to have an excuse to invite everyone over – Thanksgiving was the perfect date! She was very excited to receive her big family for the awaited celebration. While checking every detail for the celebration, she noticed that her floors were looking less than acceptable. She was very busy with all the preparations, so she decided to contact our grout cleaning experts in Friendswood. A friend of hers had recommended us and told her that we offered an excellent service. Therefore, the homeowner didn't hesitate to call us, and we diligently set a date to perform an evaluation. On the day of the evaluation, we examined the floor in question and explained that grout and tile can suffer damage when exposed to heavy foot traffic, water, and the wrong cleaning products. She told us she had recently bought the house, but it previously belonged to a family with four children, which could explain the floor's state. We explained that the most appropriate course of action was a grout cleaning and sealing service, as the main problem with this home's floors were the grout lines; they were dirty and discolored, making the tiles look as if they were a different color. The tiles were also dirty but not too severely so. We gave her an estimate, and she was very happy with the price, so we agreed on a date to do the job. She was looking forward to seeing her renewed floors.
On the set date, she greeted us with a big smile on her face, and we set about performing the service. To help this homeowner solve her problem, we applied a pH-neutral, soap-free cleaner and used a gentle scrubber to remove the grime from the grout and tiles. After that, we applied our proprietary product – ColorSeal. ColorSeal is a long-term, cost-effective solution when compared to regrouting an entire floor. This product has two main functions; it seals the grout –protecting it from future staining – while recoloring it. This makes grout look as good as new, providing it with a uniform color throughout the entire floor. When the color is chosen carefully, it can actually make floors look entirely different.
Once the job was done, and the client saw the results, she expressed how happy she was and thanked us for a job well done. Now, she could proudly show her home to her entire family on Thanksgiving Day. We gave her some recommendations on how to keep the floor looking its best. For example, she should never use acidic or alkaline cleaners, as these can have damaging effects on grout lines, degrading them and making them more prone to accumulating dirt. We also explained that tile floors should never be left to air dry; we advised her to always use a dry mop or terry cloth to dry the floors after mopping with a pH-neutral, soap-less product, as this will ensure that the tiles and grout remain clean.
